OWL’s entrepreneur of the year Wolf D. Meier-Scheuven was chosen on 12/10 at the University of Bielefeld in the presence of more than 100 guests.
The lively and humorous laudatory speech given by Prof Fred Becker made it abundantly clear why the jury voted without hesitation and by consensus for Meier-Scheuven:
“A successful thinker on BOGE strategy, who knows markets like no other, creating and maintaining confidence, he gives leeway, is clever enough to win over and gain the trust of those cleverer than he, works tirelessly - in honorary posts too and is an excellent networker.
The prize is for everything he has achieved as an entrepreneur and person, with his enthusiasm and practicality, at and for Boge, for the shareholders as well as the workforce, for the region and entrepreneurship, in the last few years.”
The bronze “Ascensus” sculpture created specially for him symbolises the “advancement with heart, hand and mind”, according to the artist Lothar Maier.
Every two years the “family entrepreneurs” association and the Bielefeld association of banks honours management personalities, who are committed to visionary company management, innovative product development and social interests.
The prize money of EUR 3,000, awarded for the first time, goes to the OWL study fund.
